How it works

Get to know someone, one considered step at a time.

Learn about profile completion, privacy, browsing and connection requests on Life Mate, including recipient-controlled messaging and contact sharing.

Create and complete a profile

Verify your email, accept the current policies and complete the required adult account and profile details, including a required private contact phone number. Choose Complete and publish profile to appear to signed-in members without routine staff preapproval. A profile created with help from family or a friend also requires the represented adult’s own permission and information.

Choose your photo and visibility

Adding a profile photo is optional. You can upload and frame a photo, replace it, or continue with a placeholder. Images are optimized for display. Complete and publish profile controls member visibility. Public preview is a separate choice; replacing a primary photo clears earlier public-preview permission.

Browse and send a request

Visitors can see up to five available public-preview cards shared by members who have opted in. Sign-in is required to explore member profiles and use member features. Eligible members can browse without a profile-visit quota and send up to five new connection requests in any rolling 24-hour period.

Connect on your own terms

The recipient can decline, block or accept a request. Acceptance can separately allow messaging, contact address, phone and email sharing. An accepted request does not automatically grant every permission. Permissions can change, and a block or suspension removes access.
